Wearing Our Identity
Young people from Butetown, Grangetown and Splott explored how clothing can express who we are and where we come from.
Working with Now In A Minute and Printhaus, they developed their own designs before printing them onto T-shirts. Their ideas drew on the different cultures, traditions and experiences that shape their lives, including their Welsh and Somali identities.
The finished T-shirts celebrate identities that are personal, layered and constantly evolving. Rather than having to choose between different parts of themselves, the young people could bring them together in designs they created – and wear – themselves.
