Secrets of the Sands

The sands around Port Talbot have hidden traces of people who lived here thousands of years ago.

Inspired by prehistoric objects discovered locally, people explored what these finds can tell us about how earlier communities lived and made things.

Using clay, wool and natural tools, they created their own objects inspired by the past. Making them by hand offered a connection with people who shaped, decorated and used similar materials generations ago.

These new creations bring ancient and modern lives together, showing how objects can connect us with the people who lived in the same landscape long before us.
