Good Food from the Garden

Adults with learning disabilities created a Rainbow Garden in Haverfordwest, growing herbs and fruit together.

Working with artist Sally Green, the group used plants from the garden and foraged fruit to make colourful eco-printed paper. They turned this into recipe and menu cards for a special meal using produce they had grown themselves.

From planting and harvesting to cooking and eating, everyone played a part. The group chose to make Welsh favourites – cawl and blackberry Welsh cakes – before coming together to share the meal.

Growing, cooking and creating became ways to share skills, stories and friendship, celebrating the connections between food, nature and community.
