Milford Haven, Haverfordwest and Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire’s towns have long been shaped by the sea and waterways. Trade, industry, migration and military history have all left their mark on the people, places and language of the area.

Wales REACH worked with ateb and local groups to explore these histories and what it means to feel at home in a place. People visited museums, galleries and archives, discovering stories of those who have arrived in Pembrokeshire over thousands of years.

Through research, textiles and visual art, they explored language, landscape and personal journeys – celebrating the different ways that people connect with Pembrokeshire and come to call it home.

“Really uplifting. You can feel the happiness of the participants as you look at the pieces of art. Beautiful”
